About Sainik School
Sainik Schools are a system of schools in India established and managed by the Sainik Schools Society under the Ministry of Defence.
Their primary aim is to prepare young students academically, physically, and mentally for entry into the National Defence Academy (NDA) and other prestigious institutions.
The first Sainik School was established in 1961, and today there are 33 schools across India.

Eligibility Criteria
- Admission mainly in Class 6 and Class 9
- For Class 6: Age 10–12 years
- For Class 9: Age 13–15 years (must have passed Class 8)
- Both boys and girls are eligible
- Reservation for SC/ST/OBC and Defence category as per rules

- All India Sainik School Entrance Exam (AISSEE) conducted by NTA
- Mode: Offline (OMR based)
- For Class 6:
- Mathematics – 50% weightage
- Intelligence – 25% weightage
- Language – 25% weightage
- For Class 9:
- Mathematics – 50% weightage
- Intelligence – 25% weightage
- English, General Science, Social Studies – 25% weightage
- Followed by Medical Examination & Merit List
