About RMS
Rashtriya Military Schools (RMS) are a group of five premier residential schools in India run by the Ministry of Defence.
Established with the aim of preparing young boys for a career in the Armed Forces, these schools focus on discipline, academics,
leadership, and physical fitness. They are among the oldest military schools in the country, with a strong tradition of producing
officers and leaders for the nation.

Eligibility Criteria
- Admission mainly in Class 6 and Class 9
- For Class 6: Age 10–12 years
- For Class 9: Age 13–15 years (must have passed Class 8)
- Only boys are eligible (as per latest notification)
- Reservation for wards of Defence personnel and other categories
Exam Pattern
- RMS Entrance Exam conducted at national level
- For Class 6:
- Mathematics – 50 marks
- English – 50 marks
- General Knowledge & Intelligence – 50 marks
- For Class 9:
- Paper 1: English, Hindi, Social Science (100 marks)
- Paper 2: Mathematics, Science (100 marks)
- Followed by Interview & Medical Examination
